We had so much fun making this with the kids 🙂
We wanted to share a fun glimpse into our day … so here it is!
Always watch your words… and make sure your actions and words fit your facial expressions. Keep it positive and real. Talk to children with respect always!
It has been years since we went out and actually bought a real Christmas tree. This year we decided that not only would we have a real tree but that we would make our Christmas ornaments. After stringing popcorn and cranberries for hours and hours, and drying oranges and stringing cinnamon sticks, it looked beautiful!
When my children were younger, taking the tree out of the house was devastating so I came up with the idea of leaving it in the yard and making bird feeders for the birds.
Years have passed and my children are all teenagers, so what did mom do? Put the tree up in the yard and made bird feeders of course.
We use to make feeders by rolling toilet paper rolls covered in peanut butter in bird seed, but this is the mom version … hollowed out oranges filled with seed.
Now to watch and wait…
here birdie birdie birdie 🙂
A very cute winter craft is making name snowmen. I made the circles before hand and cut out the rest of the shapes as well. When it was time for the kids to make their snowman they found the correct letters and built their snowman to spell their own name. They also had some fun painting with a scrub brush to make snowflakes on the picture as well.
Although when you have a one year old do this …. It kind of looks like the poor snowman melted hahaha
Super easy craft to do with preschoolers!
I had premade strips of colourful paper ready and some triangles cut out of cardboard.
The children covered the triangles with glue, then they laid the strips of paper across the triangle.
They had fun looking at the different lengths of paper
Once dry I trimmed the excess paper away, taped a Popsicle stick to the bottom and stuck them into egg cartons that were covered with tinfoil.
Here are our trees don’t they look beautiful!
