We can’t forget making crowns!
I found the prettiest the and blue plastic gems to make our crowns with at the local dollar store.
I measured around the kids heads with construction paper and then we covered the paper with tin foil.
We then made the top part of the crowns with a yellowish coloured construction paper, cutting out the jagged points. We taped it all together and then glued on our pretty sparkles.
Pretty crown for a pretty princess!
This week has been so much fun! I would definitely do this theme again. I set up a hat store for the kids… They spent most of their time trying on hats in front of the mirror and being the cashier selling “top of the line” hats =o)
So this weeks theme is Hats. We have been making hats, wearing hats, talking about hats…
Today we had hat seriation.
Lining up our hats from smallest to largest.
A fun thing to do is to turn all the hats over and grab a few balls and try to throw the balls into the hats.
You can’t have hat week and not make a Chef Hat! We made ours with construction paper, and then we taped tissue paper around the top edge. And you can’t wear a chef hat unless you are in the kitchen … And If you are in the kitchen you might as well bake something.
How about Granola Bars?!
Here is how we made the bars.
2 cups rice krispies
2 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup of butter
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup chocolate chips.
I added some peanut butter and crasins
We mixed it all together and then pressed it down with a fork in a greased 9×13 baking pan. Baked it for 20 min. at 325 degrees. Wait for 10 min. before cutting or they will be very crumbly.
